The coffee farmers in this region are known as the Guji Oromo, and coffee farming has been a core part of highland culture for many years. It's a distinct coffee from Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. This coffee is from farmers in the Uraga Woreda, one of the highest elevation zones in Ethiopia. This area is home to thousands of small-scale farmers, most with less than half a hectare of coffee. They practice traditional intercropping with their coffee, mixing in other cash crops such as fruits, vegetables, and grains.
